i.am Angel x LAUSD Robotics Teams Win Awards at 2026 FIRST Robotics World Championship

i.am Angel x LAUSD’s FTC teams had a strong showing at this year’s FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston.

The two teams representing the LAUSD Robotics League both took home honors in their respective divisions.

• Team SOCES Knights from the Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies won the Sustain Award 1st Place
• Team Technobots from Foshay Learning Center won the Sustain Award, 3rd Place

The FIRST Sustain Award celebrates teams that have demonstrated an excellent sustainability strategy for the long-term success of their team beyond current members.

Students from Valley Academy of Arts and Sciences and Verdugo Hills High School were also recognized as FIRST Student Leadership Award Finalists at a luncheon celebrating all the honorees.

We are so proud of our robotics students’ achievements this year, and can’t wait to see what next season will bring!
